Waitlist?

Hello,
I was placed on the waitlist for class of 2022, and thought I confirmed staying on the waitlist for USNA via emailing the provided address. However, I just realized I never received a confirmation that I was on the waitlist and did not receive a TWE last week like many others on here. Does this mean I still have a chance, or merely that my LOCI for the waitlist was missed? Thanks for the help!

I read in another thread that USNA had not received the amount of declined Offers (which they usually plan for) this year.
With 36 days to go before I-Day, the chances are like a limit of 0/x with x approaching 0 in Calculus.
Close to zero, but never quite zero. ;)

I read a story about a candidate getting an Offer the day before I-Day.
There's a phone call that will make you pucker.

My DS is still on the WL also. I don’t think anyone heard back from USNA after confirming by email you wanted to be on the WL.

Yup...I seem to recall one of my classmates got the call within a week before I day. Probably doesn't happen often, but until you get the TWE its always a possibility. Not worth dwelling on .. if it happens to someone, jump on the chance and run with it.

A USAFA candidate from DS's high school received a call to report 48 hours before their version of I-Day (this was about 7 yrs ago). DS's guidance counselor told us about it. He had already signed room and board contract for his plan B. I guess it was a major cluster getting all the paperwork together and getting on a plane. Parents' heads were absolutely spinning. It apparently does happen.

Where did you read this?

I read that here (on the SAF forums).
I just spent ten minutes looking for the post, and apparently my Post-Searching Kung-Fu is weak.

Wow that has to be tough; counting down to the last couple of days. Good-on-ya! Any kid who is still hanging with the USNA selection process this late has "success" written on their forehead USNA appointment or not.

Mean time, I feel for you (as I am sure others do here).

I never received confirmation of my waitlist spot either, and can’t check the portal anymore, but I haven’t received a TWE so I’m still waiting

DS got the final email last week after being waitlisted in April. They will let you know in an email in a nice way that they really want you and want you to reapply. DS did not get a confirmation back when he said yes to the waitlist.

Pray for the best- whether it be plan A or B, but make sure you have a solid B. It's not over til it's over. DS didn't receive that good news until his b-day (2 days prior to graduation 2016).

Just heard from my DS- also got the dreaded TWE email and portal update. He was disappointed but wondered about wait list? Last year, a friend in another district received a TWE but then got a call in June- while another received a TWE one week but a BFE another week. We are not sure how the wait list works- can anyone explain? Does USNA let you know you are wait listed, or if you receive TWE do you assume you are at the end of the road for 2022? Like many others, my DS has been preparing for USNA for years, and the news is difficult, but I admire his positive outlook. He is hoping for wait list.

Agree chances are getting slimmer as you get closer to I day but for what it’s worth, a friend in my DD company who just finished Plebe year with her got notice to report literally 5 days before I day last year. Go with Plan B but it’s not unheard of to have some unexpected curveball in this process.

Good luck!
