Summer STEM

Understood. She was hoping because she was wait listed last year. Sure it doesn’t help we live in PA...

CADETS?????!!!!!

Oh, it's on, zoomie! :D

DD still not heard[emoji34]

Rising 10th grader in all honors, county band, CAP, 2 Varsity letters already.... disheartening to her
Also on the bandwagon of telling your daughter not to get too upset. Locale is also a big part of it. They want geographical diversity and if you come from an area near the academy or with a heavy Navy presence, your odds are lower. We are still waiting as well (well, not really waiting). Son went last year as a rising 9th grader and applied again. Have heard from admissions that it is pretty rare to be given a spot a second time around. So we don't expect to hear positively. But we come from a state pretty far and little Navy presence so who knows. Good luck to your DD. Someone on facebook did say that all admissions weren't sent yet.

Anybody get a denial? Just waiting to close the chapter officially. (I don't know why I care, but I do. LOL). Son would be a repeat so not much chance and he hasn't heard either way. Just wondering everybody's status. Thanks.

DD did yesterday. Wish we knew what they were looking for.... strike 2 for her. 3.9 GPA, CAP, 2 varsity letters, GS, band & orchestra, student council, all honors (no AP options for 9th graders...)

All we can figure is PA is a major strike... Hopefully 3rd time will be a charm.

DD not as upset as would have been bc it is the same week we are going to VA Beach and last summer vacay with big brother who is off to Texas Maritime in August unless USMMA comes through yet.

Our daughter will be flying up on Monday from Atlanta, GA. I would love to have helpful insider hints to offer from folks who have kids who have previously attended. Anyone else with a child going up on Monday?

My DD attended a few years ago. She had a great time and is now a Youngster at the Academy and will be working with students like your daughter. Do not worry, the Mids will round them all up at the airport and put them on the buses. They are chaperoned and will have a good time. Do not be surprised when she shows up sporting lots of swag from USNA.

My DD went last year and my DS will be flying there tomorrow.

DD has a blast, and also came home with tons of swag! She told her brother that he needed more long pants than shorts; she had only taken one pair of long pants, but they were required in most labs.

Our DS #2 will be flying from north Tx tomorrow for Session 1 STEM. He is excited about the return to the Yard having visited there a couple of years ago with big brother.

DS is flying solo up to USNA for STEM1 from DFW. DS is so ready to spread his wings on this trip.

Mine is flying “almost” solo from St. Louis as well. One of his friends from the same Sea Cadet battalion was also selected for the same session and both boys are on the same flight.

Perhaps they will meet. I haven't heard from her since we put her on the plane so that's a good sign.
