No worries, just wanted to make sure I wasn't reading the appt thread incorrectly.yes you are right - I forgot this was CGAS thread. Sorry about that. That looks like as class if 2022 appt. I haven't heard if anyone coming off the prep school waitlist to get a prep school spot.
My DS still hasn't heard anything about coming off the CGAS waitlist, so Plan B looks like the number one plan at this timeStill no word on CGAS waitlist appts? Figured someone on the forum would hear something.
My DS hasn't heard anything either way.Has anyone else been able to get off the CGAS waitlist for prep school? Or has anyone received notification if the Scholar's program has been filled/closed?
I totally understand the frustration, but believe it or not, sending out notifications informing that the class is closed actually does disservice to you. They’re not sending out notifications because it’s not closed until literally a day before reporting in (not exactly but almost), and they probably don’t exactly want you to move on just yet. Unlike civilian colleges, a spot may suddenly open up if someone breaks his ankle or his arm. Those who want it badly enough and hold on to their hopes with a semper paratus attitude are the ones who will make it in when that phone call comes in last minute asking if you still want it. I was just talking to a parent whose daughter got off the CGAS waitlist at the last minute. We’ve heard so many crazy stories, so we know it happens, and don’t hesitate for a minute just because you already put down a $500 deposit with plan B. After the swearing in day - that’s when you can safely assume that the class is closed and move on.same here, DS is always checking his email and BD for any updates. You would think they would at least send an email stating the class is filled, or something to that regard so that the kids can move on, rather than waiting on pins and needles for any news...Most colleges do send notification to waitlisted applicants, informing them that the class is filled and wishing them well at another college....
