USMA Class of 2022 Appointment Thread

Best wishes tomorrow on R Day class of 2022! USMA chose you for a reason and now it’s your time to shine!

We are on our way home from Air Assault graduation and a short visit with our son before CFT2. Hydrate!

Congratulations to the Class of 2022.
Best wishes tomorrow!

Yes. Good luck Black Knights! You’ll get a brief break on July 4th. Enjoy the Fireworks and the Festive Music by the Hudson! Cadets paraded in rain last year, this year is clear weather!

It was quite a day. Very humbling to watch my DD and her classmate take the oath on the plain.

Agreed. the whole day was emotional and I felt grateful that my daughter has this opportunity. I wish the spectators would have waited in the stands till all cadets left the plain and the doors to the barracks were shut. Even though it was asked people still did not listen and I found it disrespectful. I know it was hot but what we went through paled in comparison to what the new cadets had to and will have to endure.

@NovaGrad prople don’t know, do they? The last cadet from H4-4 entering Washington Hall and the doors slamming shut behind him ir her is the entire point, isn’t it? Don’t be mad or you will find yourself upset, disappointed, and so much more over the four years. Be happy that you knew what to do and feel sorry for the others who missed it. Best wishes for a good first phone call and prayers that your Cadet will SLAY THE BEAST!

As a momma of a last of the last but worth waiting for I4 cadet, the door slamming wasn’t as traumatic as I thought it would be for me. We are always waiting till the last company is off the plain. [emoji38]

Enjoy looking for your child in photos and anticipating the first phone call and letter. Best wishes!

We kept telling folks to wait for the end but everyone started talking and leaving. They didn't have the doors "miked up" this year. The slam heard on the speakers was dramatic a few years ago. We still heard it and it was a moment to remember

Don't be too hard on those who didn't wait. Likely they were anxious about their travel plans - getting to the airport on time. Or they were with family members who were just done in due to the heat. The heat on Rday was pretty unbearable.
And congrats to all who are now part of the WP family. It's a wild 47 month
ride!!

I was not mad at them but at myself because could not find DS until the company turned and walked away. However I felt embarrassed for the spectators who laughed/talked very loud and left the bleacher while the superintendent and staffs were still standing and new cadets marching back to the barrack.

I have many HD pics of the Parade, Mostly Company C, emphasis on C-4. Let me know.... We stayed planted in the stands until the bitter end. I have pics of the doors closing.
