Hi. Does anyone have any information regarding this tradition of postcards being sent and arriving before acceptance day? Thanks in advance!
Hi there. Mom of of 16'er and a 21'er. We signed up for addresses from our respective parents groups and once we were confirmed (I believe USAFA was involved in confirming our status as 'members') we recieved a list of Basics and their PO boxes. Each participant designed their own congratulatory card, mostly referencing "Beating the Beast" and sent them to the Basics to coincide with their return from Jacks or A Day. You could do as many or as few as you wished. Was the first of many Spirit Missions the organized Parents Groups participated in.Hi. USAFA Class of 2022 Group page and USAFA Parents Resource group page on Facebook are great resources as well. Be sure to register/sign up.Hi. Does anyone have any information regarding this tradition of postcards being sent and arriving before acceptance day? Thanks in advance!

Don't sweat it FFW22. Some parents are very excited about postcards and some don't care. Both attitudes are fine. My understanding is that those creating and sending the cards are sending them to every basic cadet in their squadron, regardless of whether you send them or not. So your DD/DS will receive cards even if you don't participate. Please don't feel pressure to participate in this or any other solicited activity. We all know everyone's lives and interests are different. These are not meant as snarky questions and I hope they don't come across that way- but for anyone here whose DS or DD did not participate in the postcards:
Did they feel left out at the end of BCT if their box was not filled with postcards from people they don't know?
Is this 'tradition' as meaningful as the challenge bridge or the shoulder boards? Or is it OK to skip it and not add our DS' PO Box info to a public list on Facebook?
