Cadet Stipend

Hello all,

I recently got back from basic camp last week and had a question about the stipend during the school year. If I recall correctly, during one of the PowerPoint briefs, it stated that there will now be a set stipend amount of $420 across the board for all ms levels beginning in October of this year. I know that currently, it is $450 for ms3s and $500 for ms4s. Can anyone confirm this?

I know this is happening, just not sure if it starts officially the beginning of this school year. You might want to check with your HR person in your Battalion, they will probably be the one to know.

On a side note, does anyone know if this will be an across the board change for everyone. Seems like the rising MS4's sort of get the short end of the stick since they started with the original stipends.

Jcleppe, that actually happened with AFROTC many years ago. They brought down the stipends, and in the end the AS400s were getting the same stipend they did the year before as an AS300.

Our understanding is that currently contracted Cadets will retain the current stipend progression and only new contracts starting this fall will have the new flat rate.
