I am applying for the AFROTC type 7 scholarship. On the website, it says that you need to complete everything by January 31. Are there any Board Dates before then? Or do they only start looking at applications after that?

Also, how do I schedule/complete an interview?

I don't know the dates of the boards, but there are definitely boards before then. The deadline of Jan 31 is to make you eligible for the final board. Your best bet is to get your application submitted as soon as possible while making sure it's the best application you can submit.

And you're not applying for a type 7 scholarship. You're applying for an AFROTC scholarship. You might very well end up with a type 7 but you don't apply specifically for a type 7.

Thanks for your post 23Lt. We are wondering when the first AFROTC scholarship boards are as well. We heard they may start as early as September. If anyone has information on the board dates please post. Also curious who schedules the interview - AFROTC or the applicant? Thanks!

You got to go through the entire application process before the interview, which is scheduled by the detachment you are assigned relative to your general region. In my case for example, I was given a time window for the interview and had to communicate exactly when to commence it. Doesn’t hurt to start as soon as you can! The medical exam and vision exam are done after you receive a scholarship. Definitely focus on completing the application first...rushing to the board interview does no good. If you google “AFROTC HSSP Board Interview” you’ll find a lot of past years’ info. There are many forum discussions about the process too! Good luck :)
