Army ROTC Component release

My DS (mid fifties OML) just called. Active Duty. He is pleased.

Apparently AD is going pretty deep as one of his buddies was at 39 OML and still received AD.

Congratulations to your son!

Remember these moments this year as the pieces of your son's immediate (4-5 year) future avail themselves to him. Branching, first duty station, BOLC date, dumping all his crap in your basement after four years of college...

I think its time for @kinnem to breakout into his best Barbra Streisand.

If Reddit is to be believed;
  • 36.8 got AD.
  • Only 200 Cadets did not get the component requested.

Whoa 39 huh? Two years ago, my son's roommate had a 49 and was forced into Reserves. Of course somebody else from the unit had a 45 and got AD...in Infantry!!! He didn't make it thru IBOLC though and I never did hear what they did with him after that.

I believe Reddit...the information I gleaned off there in 2014 during this process was spot on.

I would imagine that someone with a particularly low OML score might not fare well in a high speed environment.

Natural selection then proceeds to cull the herd.
