I live very close to the AFA, so I'm thinking that make me in the top 3 most competitive districts in the nation, when it comes to Congressional nominations. Here is my resume below:
SAT: 1430
740 Math, 590 Reading

ACT: 32
32 Math, 32 English, 29 Science, 33 Reading, 34 Reading

GPA: 4.68 weighted, 3.88 unweighted. Rank 15 of 301.

AP Classes: Calc:5 LangComp:4 U.S. Gov:5 U.S.History:3 PhysicsA:3

Sports: 4 years Varsity Tennis, 2 as Captain. 3 Years Varsity Baseball, likely Captain this spring.

Clubs: Co-Founded and VP of school eSports club. Member of French National Honors Society

Jobs: Have had 3 jobs in past 2 years, 2 in restaurants, 1 as driving instructor.

Confirmed Member of Lutheran Church, including a little bit of volunteering.

As with any “chance me” thread on this forum, we don’t know. No one knows, because we can’t see what your competition looks like.

Yes, the congressional districts near USAFA are quite competitive because of proximity. But competitiveness is a slippery concept. All it takes is one candidate with better credentials than you to beat you out for an appointment. So don’t sorry about what you can’t control — where you live — and focus on what you can. If there’s anything on your resume that you think you can improved, hen do it. Because that’s what the other guy/gal is doing. Best wishes to you.

Wow awesome.. maybe add MORE volunteer hours
Is that a requirement or scored for USAFA? As far as I know, it is not a significant thing in the USNA Candidate Multiple.

As for how competitive you'd be for USAFA, I can't say but in the two districts that I have BGO schools in, your stats would not stand out. One of my districts is more competitive than the other but I know that your stats would not be the best in either of my districts last year.

I also live close to USAFA, and my stats are similar to yours. I guess we just have to wait and see. I have heard that getting nominations in Colorado can be tougher because more people know about USAFA and want to apply there.

Who knows. But I'd say you are average at best! Keep taking ACT scores are average. All of my kids have better scores and they are not in a competitive district for USNA.

GPA: 4.68 weighted,

Your wcgpa will drop drastically unless USAFA has changed their scales. They will top at a 4.5 weight scale. Thus, 4.68 wcgpa will not be their wcgpa for your packet. It can drop even more, if your school uses a 6.0 for APs.

My pet peeve is that candidates post these numbers. The fact is there are thousands, upon thousands of HS in the nation. The GC will submit a school profile. You are top 20%, but how many of your peers go to Ivy, USAFA will look at that. They will look at your course curriculum rigor.

My assumption is they will use your ACT and not your SAT. Your English on SAT impo is low compared to your ACT reading.

CO is competitive for MoCx.

I wish you the best, but I also hope you have plan B in place.
