Has anyone else had trouble contacting a PMS for their interview? Lots of messages left but no responses. Application has been completed for a month and would like to be boarded 1st look.

Lots going on right now. School just starting at most colleges, orientation, etc.

Be patient. Try calling the Army ROTC office and speaking to someone as opposed to an email. Alternatively, you can also try visiting the nearest college with ROTC and stopping by the AROTC office in person, as ANY Army ROTC PMS can conduct your interview.

But they are ALL busy as the semester begins.

I agree with AROTC-dad. The PMS are so busy at the beginning of the year putting out fires in support of their current and new cadets that they may not make interviews a priority.

My DD got her interview in early July. Just by pure luck, the PMS of the closest ROTC unit wasn't at Ft. Knox this past summer. It was still tough to coordinate times he was free to interview though. My DD contacted the ROOs at the nearby ROTC units. If you get no joy with the PMS, then try to call the ROO who may be able to coordinate an interview for you with the PMS. In the end, it was the ROO who got my DD an interview with the PMS.

The difficulty she had was 3 of the 4 ROTC units she called requested their school be put on her list of 7. Unfortunately, all 5 of the nearest schools provided to her by Cadet Command were not on her list of 7. Be prepared to change out schools from your list of 7 if a unit says they'll interview you only if they're on your list.

As you might have seen on this forum, some schools may also want you to do the PFA before they interview you.

I would think your best chance to interview is to call the schools that are in your top 3- if they're within reasonable traveling distance. It would seem the PMS would be accommodating to interview you if there's a chance you could attend their school.

Most PMS have a secretary or civilian administrative staff. Other schools the ROO sets up the interview. Good luck, and to echo above, this is a super busy time! Trying to get the freshman off to a good start, the MS4 staff is new and need guidance, and students are flooding the office with GoArmy ed questions because they want to get their tuition paid!

I'm sure there are good reasons why your contact has not been returned - but just try another school near you, if you can, instead of waiting.

@brob - Yes, I have tried four, left messages. I will keep trying for sure.

Try different numbers for the same school. If you go to the programs website you may find numbers for the program, ROO, and PMS. Recommend not calling the PMS direct. Try generic number (will probably get program secretary) or try the ROO. If you are waiting for a PMS, who you called direct, to get back to you, good luck. Keep in mind too that if you are trying to schedule an interview at Penn State it’s going to be a little harder than trying to schedule an interview at Slippery Rock. Smaller programs are probably a little less hectic this time of year.

Wanted to thank everyone for their advice. Contacted a smaller school, interviewed the same week and my portal shows board ready. Appreciate the guidance.
Thank you so much for circling back around and letting us know the outcome! Good luck to you on the upcoming scholarship boards, please keep us posted!

I would call the ROTC UNIVERSITY office and speak to the Admin Secretary to the PMS . That’s what i did, since the secretary is the one that has the PMS weekly schedule and available dates/times that they can do the interview. I had my interview within 3 days of calling.

"That's a Bingo!"

My Army ROTC dashboard shows "WINNER"

Wait, are you saying you checked your Army Scholarship Dashboard and your status has changed from "Boarded" to "Winner"? I only ask because the scheduled date for the notifications was Nov. 2nd. If this is the case then it's close to the first time I've seen the Army actually give notifications early.

EDIT:
Well I just read the other thread and saw that others have seen their status change as well. Congratulations. This is the quickest I've seen the 1st board notifications in a long time.

My daughter called around and got recruited for her major. So she called a liberal arts college that did not have engineering and it took the recruiting out of play. Had a fab interview.
