Texas - DS received no-nom from both Cruz and Cornyn. Just letters in the mail last month. He also received a call 2 days ago with a USAFA nom from our Representative. It posted in his portal yesterday.

Texas- Portal was FINALLY updated this morning for my daughters congressman nomination! (We had found out on Dec 22 by letter, then phone call on Dec 24th she received principal nom). My daughter didn’t receive email of update just went in and checked this morning on her own.

Casey and Toomey or representatives?
Pa nominations are in the portal![/QUO

Been watching this thread hoping for signs of info on NY so I thought I would post for any others who are doing the same. DD just got a no-nom letter via usps from Senator Gillibrand. We are still hopeful for one from either Schumer or our district representative. :)
If Senator Schumer's office holds true to the past, his nominations will go out at the very end of the month. You will hear nothing. The nomination will just show up on portal. (Most likely on the 31st of January.) Snail mail might follow afterwards. ( I can't exactly remember about that though)

DS just got an email from Burr’s Office confirming a nomination to the USAFA. They are sending slates next week. With his LOA things are about to get real [emoji51]

I assume that he doesn’t need another nomination with an LOA. All of his other requirements are complete.

Thank you for sharing this information! The wait continues....

1st off congrats on both the LOA and nom.

For others reading this, thinking well I guess I will now be sent to the pool. That is not true. Unless, Burr sent his nom as principal, it is more than likely that because they have an LOA they will not charge to Burr. All it really means is that in a few short weeks the BFE for BBQ-Devil's DS will be at their door.

Now, FWIW BBQ-Devil, if your DS applied for an AFROTC scholarship, keep it. That is my opinion. I have been here way too long and seen way too many kids get an injury late in the game, to the point of just hrs prior to the oath on I Day. That scholarship allows you keep plan B in place if finances are an issue.
Some examples just from posters on this site are:
1. Tripped getting off the bus before the oath. Blew out their knee. They were a medical send back on day 1, because you can only miss X amount of days of BCT, and that injury would pass the number. They went home, but because they paid the school deposit as plan B, and had not taken the oath. They were up front with the college and told them that plan A was USAFA. They went to college on AFROTC and merit scholarships. Reapplied. Was appointed again.
2. A poster with an appointment during a snow storm in late March thought....hey, let's tie up an inner tube to the back of my buddies truck and have some fun. He fell off, broke his leg, required surgery and PT. Would not be cleared by his docs until 3 weeks before I Day. Key words... his docs, not DoDMERB. Hence, just like #1 illustration he was medical turnback. He was healed by the 1st day of college. If memory serves me correctly, they had to wait a month or so to contract because he was stuck in DoDMERB review.
3. A poster had a graduation party and they had a volleyball court set up. Take a guess what happened? Broken arm and did not show to I Day.

I am sorry for taking this off topic, but enjoy the moment of getting a nom., and than wrap them up in bubble wrap when they get the BFE. JK. Let them be kids, but let them also know that now the big risk is an injury and not to be foolish. Also, once you have the BFE decide what you will do with plan B.

@Pima , This caught my attention, if I am understanding it correctly. To clarify ---- IF a candidate has an LOA and MoC gives a normal nomination (Not principal), then the appointment of this candidate does not count against the MoC slate? Is that right? If yes, then how an academy count this appointment ?

I know DS doesn’t have a principal nom. Burr’s office said they send a competitive slate. He has two slates for USAFA this year as he has two vacancies.

First post here, this forum has been so helpful for this Dad who is trying to educate himself on what his DS is signing up for, so thank you!

Received a “sorry” letter from both PA senators but was fortunate to get the nom from his congressman for USNA, USAFA and West Point. The waiting continues as we all keep our fingers crossed that an appointment follows. Best to all the candidates waiting to hear !

Congratulations for getting the noms to all three academies from one source.
@EmeraldPA , just curious, if son asked for the nom to all three or congressman decided to give to all the academies where he applied for?

My son had his interview for naval academy. After he sent an email to the staff of MOC and requested a second one. They would have given him all of them if he had asked. She didn’t have ten for any branch.

I suspect Senators wouldn’t do it.

The congressman’s application form asks for your preference on academies listed in order and then DS applied for all 3 and did three separate interviews with three different panels. It appears from this forum that each state and district does it a little differently.
