Football days with your plebe

It’s easily googable if that’s a word. Home games are amazing. I would be a total stalker if I was 4 hours out. I am sure my 2021 is thankful. Ha!
That's what I thought, too! I googled, but could only find single game prices and a site to make a deposit. Don't plan to stalk, I just love SA football games! (Well, maybe sneak in a quick hi!)

@HiSpeedLoDrag - the price of season tickets will likely go up. I've watched the prices rise as WP has begun beating Navy.
Wouldn't surprise me! Just trying to decide if to make a deposit on season tickets and how many!

So. . . if anyone could give me an estimate, would appreciate it! :)

If you do not donate to the A club in the thousands, then your chance to get a good seat is minimal for the basic donation. Near the home game dates, many tickets will go for sale at discounted price from parents that have changed of plan or their cadets have out of post obligations that weekend. Check on WP parents, or moms or dads FB pages. Your plebes can purchase tickets for you with better view than you would. I did not plan to go to the game however I sat next to a family that had 2 extra tickets for sale. It was about $65 each but I was there alone I bought 2 from them any way for 40 dollars total. I threw one away. Unfortunately they have large body types so I could not even squeeze in to sit. I ended up sit at AA section and having a whole row to myself. People came by to ask to sit on “my row” and I let them! Why not it was not mine any way...,meanwhile my new friends who are A club members had to sit all the way near the top. They finally came down to my “section” to sit with me. Basically there are a lot of empty seats in the stadium you just have to find one that is no belonged to any one. I think the same for Army Navy game. I definitely will go for 2019 game. I will have my DS purchase tickets for us or purchase from
Stub hub or from other parents. By the way plebes can not purchase AN game tickets from what I was told. However my DS will be a yuk by then. Tickets for home games are varied in price as I mentioned earlie. Best is to go to Mom or dad FB page. Good Luck.

This is a plebe Mom. I am not into football and know nothing about football. But I tried my best to attend one game last October which happened to fall onto the Family Weekend. If you asked for my advice, that is the weekend you should attend. From what I know, during the football home game seasons plebes are not allowed to go out on Friday night. It is academic night. Early Saturday morning there would be parade and WP skydiving team for show around 8am. Parade will be represented by assigned Regiment(s) for regular home game but all Regiments will parade on the Family Weekend. The stadium will be opened around 10a and there are many activities and pregame tailgating set up by parents at various places and in parking lots. Your plebes will have to sit with their companies. During the break your plebes May attempt to sit with you then they have to go back to their seats. After the game, they will return to their barracks to sign out to leave the post with you given that they have applied and received approval for weekend pass days before. You will have your plebes until the Sunday evening before evening formation. We usually dropped him off at 5pm.
The reason why I chose Family Weekend because I am from Washington State, I have to coordinate work and family for travel. The advantage of that weekend is full of activities for parents as early as Thursday evening. Friday you can attend the class with your plebes, talking to their professors, Contitutional island tour, visiting their barracks in the afternoon, and having dinner at the Mesh Hall, library...you can’t do that at any other home games. The usual home games are pretty empty but on that weekend it will be almost full. Don’t let the crowd discourage you. So far I have stayed at the Thayer for the A-days in their executive suite that I paid about $2k that was full of mold and no apology from the hotel. I vow not to return but I don’t mind to have their Sunday brunch at all. I don’t like to stay at Homewood Suite in Newburgh because it brought back the nightmares during the RDay. We were stuck in the elevator on the way out to WP, my plebe had to pry it open...there are many hotels south of WP in Nanuet and Nyack areas with reasonable rates, and less than 30 minutes to WP. I have not explored the Peekskill or Fishkill areas yet. I hope that will help.

We also went to Parent Weekend last fall (2018). Had a great time. Also bought our tickets for the game during A day weekend, and got really good seats, directly across from the corps. We had always stayed at the Courtyard in Fishkill (like it there a lot), but getting your Plebe back and forth is a bit of a drive, at 11 at night and then back to the hotel, and then back in the AM etc........Parent weekend, we got a great AirBNB within walking distance of Thayer gate.........Also, if you park inside the gate, try Stoney lonesome gate when you leave. By the time DD had signed out etc., we were stuck in bumper to bumper to get off Post. Finally, I cut back up into the Post and was out of SL gate in minutes. Coming into the post is very easy through SL as well. My two cents.

We donate to the A Club and have managed to get good single ticket seats and we aren't big donors. Our tickets this past year were for the Air Force game and were great. Once your child accepts their appointment, you can join the mom or dad's FB board with tons of info. I found the information on the net a few years ago but maybe because the football team is doing well the information has become unavailable. I am torn this year about donating to A Club again or to the WPAOG so we shall see. Hope you can find your info!

Thanks y'all for the fantastic information! So much to think about, football tix probably shouldn't be top of my list, but can't help myself! ;)

......will anyone ever answer my original question?

LOL. My question was posted in 2016. Since then I have become and expert on the subject, having visited my 2020 Cadet too many times to count. But I appreciate the post.

You all. Everyone knows that awesome Army football delivers time at the margin w your sweet cadet but time in gobs tailgating w your friends, enjoying the glorious weather and scenery, and taking in the parachute team-Rabble Rouser-Army Mule-Spirit Band fun of the day while cheering for one of the top ranked teams in the Nation coaches by the winner of the Vince Lombardi Award, St Monken. Last at the Air Force Game this year. Did anyone else notice the rainbow that ended in the Corps of Cadets? Even God shines His Love on Army Football. There are no bad seats at Michie Stadium. Go Army! Beat Navy!

Thoroughly enjoy sitting next to the Cadets. A lot of funny stuff going on....

Heaven does actually root for Army over the other academies, but we all made a promise to never disclose that as such favoritism might damage the spirits of the Navy and AF faithful. They have been through so much already on the gridiron.

@brovol, I’m having some trouble with math and could use your help. What’s 14 minus 3?

@MidCakePa , Hey Paddy Cakes...This is the Go Army! Beat Navy, again! Segment of the Forums. We support one another, our cadets and our applicants with nothing but Go Army spirit.

Proof of heavenly support after the Air Force win. The sun shown and the angels sang! [emoji169][emoji458]

@Love4monsters That is such a beautiful picture.
Have you seen this one from the Army v. Air Force Game in October 2018? See the Corps of Cadets is our Nation's Pot of Gold. <3
Last, how is your next one...(is it #3 or #4?) doing with his applications? Cannot wait to hear his great news.

Don't they say, "only as good as your last game"? But if you want further evidence, feel free to look at the last three A/N games.

We are all equal. It just seems Army has been a lot "more equal" than the others lately. Just saying.....
