Army ROTC Scholarship is out!

Trying to find out my son's selection status, when we login we get the message "a general error has occurred". Is anyone else getting this message? Says to click on the technical/site feedback but that isn't working either. I turned off my computer in case that was the problem, still doesn't work.

The application site seems to be down for us too. I’m sure it will be up soon.

Wasnt selected. Is there any chance there are still 4yrs left on 3rd board? Or just 3yrs.

Thanks

Weird question, but my DS got a 4 year scholarship to his first choice school (he won't know if he got in until 3/22), his second school is not one that he applied to (not sure if this was his mistake - wrong numbers or something? or a board selection for him?) and his 3rd school is just about his last choice. The school he selected as his 3rd choice, to which he has already been accepted, isn't listed at all! I assume we should wait to see what happens with school #1 before changing the others? Or should he start on that asap?
you can request to change schools later but only have a certain amount of time to accept the scholarship.

In recent years the overwhelming majority of scholarships on 3rd board appear to have been 3 yr scholarships; however, there have been a few 4 yr scholarships so hang in there.

Most likely will just be a 3 year because they would give out a 4 year before a 3 year in the same board due to the oml. But there is someone in my bn who got a 4 year in the 3rd board but only because she didn't apply before the other ones. And also my roommate received a 3 year initially then it got changed to a 4 year over the summer once all the deciions were made for who was accepting the program and they had more spots open for 4 years. Good luck

For anyone who did not receive an offer, dont let this discourage you from doing rotc in college. By then end of your first year, you can be put up for an on campus scholarship which would equate to receiving a 3 year right now. I know it might be tough now but in 5 years you will all be unexperienced 2nd LTs getting ready for the journey regardless of getting a scholarship in HS or not. Best of luck in the final board though.

I didn't get an offer either. I definitely got my hopes up too much, but now it's time for plan B. SMP cadet here I come. Congrats to all who won!

There is still one more board I wouldn’t jump to enlisting rn at least wait until the next board comes out. By that time It would be late March and you would still have 2 months to enlist before the summer

I will wait...but yes, enlisting in Army or USMC is my backup plan. Does anyone have an estimate of when final/3rd board ROTC results will come out? National college respond date/last day to commit to a college is May 1, 2019! It's exciting, but also quite stressful not knowing still at this point...patience and persistence are key, I guess!

Theyll be a bunch of last minute applicants with better scores who will jump me in the OML on the next board, so I’ll have to be looking more towards plan B

The majority of new applicants have there packets in by the second board, you won't see that large number of new applicants for the third board. The third board will give out about the same number of scholarships as were given by the second board. The second board has the biggest shift in the OML due to the large umber of new applicants, the third board will not have as large a shift.

Don't give up yet and remember this is only one path to a scholarship, and a scholarship is not required to become an Army Officer.
I won’t have the financial means to do ROTC even non-scholarship unless I get one.

I'm in same place as you Minimalmaple28 . I financially need the scholarship and if not, I will enlist. I got into all my top schools, but the financial burden makes the process a lot more stressful. It's okay to go Plan B, success can come from any route, it all depends on your attitude and work ethic. Keep working hard in school and try to be patient...that's what I keep telling myself.

Offers will be out before the May 1 deadline. They know it's there and are not fools. DS got a negative reply on an NROTC scholarship mid-April, plenty of time to execute plan B as long as you've done your homework and have it ready to go.

My DS didn't get picked by the Jan board. But he was nominated for a "Rocks" Scholarship. Does anyone know what this means?

I got notified on Friday the 25th through the website that I received a 4 year scholarship and still have yet to receive my letter in the mail. Any time frame on when I should get the letter? I'm anxious to accept my scholarship!!
