Navy's First All-Female Flyover will honor CPT Rosemary Mariner

The Navy will have its first all-female flyover to honor CPT Rosemary Mariner, who was the Navy's first female jet pilot. She died from cancer last week.

Rest in peace, CAPT Mariner.

She was apparently a Gold Star daughter as well. Her father was an Air Force pilot who died in a crash when she was 3 years old. She logged over 3,500 hours in 15 different aircraft.

Quite the pioneer.

I met her several times over the years. She had the BEST sea stories. Smart, funny, thick skin, unbelievable grit - glad she is getting the respect she deserves.
