Can anyone tell me what is required to take with you on first day of West Point if you should be lucky enough to earn appointment from West Point? And could anyone tell me what else is required to do between the time you get a appointment and your first day there?

You will get lists of required and suggested items to bring. You will also receive notification of everything you need to do/send prior to Rday.
Dont worry, WP will send instructions.

Not much. A pair of running shoes and a pair of boots. Both sort of broken in. After that, they issue every thing you will need.

All of the red dots in the Candidate Portal that took so long to turn green during the application process....? Well, upon accepting the appointment, you will find what DD counted at I think it was 36 new RED dots to get turned back to green. Man, there was a lot of grumbling about them for the following months. Shoes, low quarters, athletic, and boots. All to be broken in. Then comes all the other odds and ends. Thorough details are provided. This forum is gold when questions arise. You will soon have your favorite veterans to follow and pay heed to. It's a great ride.

All the best Sara!

There was a doc last year that was part of the portal, I forget what it was called, but it was basically a pdf that provided instructions for taking care of the dots Walman mentions. It was very handy to have, and avoided much confusion. Lots to do, but get on top of it early, (fingerprinting, back ground check, dental stuff) and save some stress! Congrats and good luck!
