How long does it take BFE to come after submitting basic documents upon accepting your appointment?

I accepted my offer of appointment to the Naval Academy about fifteen minutes ago, and I was just curious about how long it usually takes the BFE to come after you've submitted your tattoo, citizenship, and background check forms.

On a side note, does the nice physical letter come after the BFE as well? I'm just excited to finally get a physical copy of acceptance in my hands. Thank you for your time!

You will receive two things in the mail over the coming months: BFE and Permit to Report Package (PTR).

BFE: signed certificate stating your appointment in a nice blue folder. This should be coming in a few weeks give or take. I don't believe it matters if you have accepted your offer or have sent in the tattoo, citizenship, and police records for them to send your BFE. I believe they send it to all who are offered an Appt.

PTR: big package of forms, information, etc to get you fully prepared to become a MIDN. Will be coming mid-April.

Congrats! Hope to see you in June!

Congratulations on your appointment!
DS received his and his PTR in mid to late April. While you are waiting, start rounding up a registered copy of your birth certificate, your Social Security card, and your vaccination records. You will need to submit copies. Your parents probably have your vaccination records somewhere.

Also, start breaking in 2 pairs of high quality running shoes before I-day. You will need them. Wear one pair to I-day. Have your parents send the second pair about 3 weeks later.

.
The Pretty Navy Blue binder with the Official Letter inside can take anywhere from a couple Business Days to several weeks … our DDs presentation folder took 3 days (arrived February 13th) …. All the Reporting documentation comes separate
.
Also. I would suggest getting several (3) Official Copies of your Birth Certificate made (you may need other copies down the road) …. Most state DMVs do it for $10 to $15 a copy …. They do it while you wait. This way, the USNA can keep the Copy for your Navy Record instead of sending it back in an envelop, after they make a copy.
.
Also, as @Sandydesert suggests, see you PC doctor about your current history of Immunizations …. you can find the Immunization sheet on a PDF somewhere on the Direct Reporting or NAPS reporting area of the USNA website (same sheet in both areas). Print the Schedule and present it to the staff at you doctor to see what needs to be completed.
.
I would hate for anyone to get a Billion shots when they Report.

Congratulations @NE2023 ! I sent notarized copies of my Birth certificate and Passport and they have been accepted by USNA and the portal is updated. My city does not write anything on the USNA Police Clearance form so had to send their letter and the USNA form by UPS. It too has been accepted.

Thank you! How long did it take for your portal to update after sending them in?

About 2 weeks !

Congratulations! My DD’s BFE took 4+weeks to arrive. Enjoy senior year - it will show up!

My son sent his documents in separately. Two were showing on his portal with a week, the third took over two weeks. He received his BFE before he sent in any of the docs, so there is no connection between the two.

While the BFE contains a beautiful folder than any parent would be proud to put on their mantel, remember, it's the appointment itself that matters!

I received and accepted my appointment Feb11 and still haven't gotten BFE yet. Just a waiting game!
