Hearing about appointments?

Just a quick question. Will you hear back from MOC, on the Portal, or through a BFE first? Does it just depend on representative or district? Or is one more common than the other?
 
For us, DS rec’d MOC call Thursday around lunchtime, portal updated over the weekend, and BFE arrived Monday after the weekend.
 
It depends. There is not set way. The BFE was sitting on our doorstep in the rain on a Saturday in late April. No call from MoC and the boy had not checked the portal while travelling abroad.

My USMMA appointment was on our side deck under a pile of snow in Nov. Where I live, I may not have seen it until May.
 
DD..........no call from MOC, portal updated, BFE a few days later. Getting the BFE in hand is a big moment.
 
My DD received a call from our MOC on Wednesday morning, portal updated Friday night BFE arrived on Monday.
 
Mine was just the portal, but I think it is more because of my situation than the rule
 
While you are waiting for a picture of the portal, know that the update for an appointment is a brand new box that is on the first page when you enter the portal. In #3's year it was a big purple box--not at the top but rather at the middle to bottom on the left hand side of the page. It is the sort of thing you cannot miss. It is not an additional single PDF hiding in the corner without announcement...it is a big, new, brightly colored box that demands your attention. You do not have to hunt for it.

My DS received a call from his MOC then the next day his portal (or maybe even that night) his portal updated. And then like a week later he received his BFE.
