Waiters ....this thread is for you

My DD is still waiting to hear from Navy. She would be the fourth sibling to attend if she is accepted. This is by far the longest wait out of the four of them. All three heard back by January. DD has been accepted to 8 other schools and had narrowed it down to two for plan B. Virginia Tech and University of Kentucky. She’s also received a type 7 AFROTC. As much as she loves VT they have offered very little merit money. Kentucky has offered a full ride. Needless to say I think Kentucky will be her plan B!! [emoji170][emoji631]

Currently accepted to Florida Institute of Technology, Penn State, University of Tennessee, VA Tech, Purdue, NC State, and UConn. Still awaiting USNA, USMA and University of FL....USNA is without a doubt my top...but I'm currently under waiver review so still holding out hope! Good luck to all!! Still, some amazing opportunities for those who have commented above!!

Colorado State University, already got multiple scholarships. Gonna use the Cross-Town Affiliate for NROTC at CU Boulder.
Joe,

I’m a CU Boulder grad. Wasn’t NROTC but was friends with that crowd and later went AOCS. They had a fantastic unit when I was was there. Very tight knit, great group. You could do a lot worse. Congrats on this accomplishment! Still hoping you get USNA, but makes me feel good to see that you have this option.

Just learned that a candidate from my nomination source received an appointment. I am unsure if my nomination source has more than one spot open, but my file is still CPR. Trying to keep hopes up, but it is hard! Really hoping I am being considered for Foundation...

DS waiting on USNA and USAFA. Waiver needed
Plan B - Accepted into Texas A&M Engineering and recently awarded the 4 year NROTC scholarship.
Also waiting to hear from Rice.

Booked him another Spend the Night with the Corps at TAMU so he can stay with a naval outfit and also tour the engineering department.

DS Appointed to USMMA and USCGA.
Admitted to Texas A&M Engineering, University of Kansas Engineering, University of Oklahoma Engineering, University of Arizona Engineering, and Florida State Engineering.

Still waiting to hear from the one remaining SA application/nomination - USNA...

DD got into NAPS but still waiting for medical waiver. She also got into VT cadet, NCSU engineering and waiting to hear from several other schools including USMA and CGA.
Good luck to everyone!

Currently at UNC in the NROTC program. NCSU, Duke (or Dook depending on which shade of blue you wear), and UNC are in the same consortium under one CO. I've had the chance to interact with several mids from NCSU and they are great guys and gals, and I took a class there over the summer. Awesome campus and a lot of school spirit. Obviously I am biased towards NC schools, but it sounds like she has a lot of great options. Best of luck to her as she makes her decision.

Nice to see some other NROTC Mids out here.

DS is waiting to hear from USAFA and USMA (he never was interested in Navy...I'm just killing time lurking) but we are currently proceeding with locking everything in at UK. He has 4-year AROTC so who knows, maybe he will see your DD around :)

The wait is nerve racking. My DD checks everyday twice a day while I search this forum for an answer that isn't there. Im pretty impressed by her throughout this process. She has NROTC, AFROTC and an appointment to USAFA but hasn't made a commitment until she receives final word from USNA. I look forward to a long exhale and the knowledge of where she will be heading after her June graduation.
Best of luck all! Reading this forum helps keep our sanity.
