Still waiting. The state coordinator, admissions officer in my area, and field Force rep says my chances are "slim" now because the class is already being filled up

Isn't everyone that is qualified on the NWL until something happens? DS is still waiting and each day that goes by, we believe his chances get smaller. We are proceeding with locking details in at his ROTC school.

My DS is in the same boat, and we feel the same way. However, an interesting thing happened a couple of weeks ago. He came to me one day and said that he thinks his Plan B has become his Plan A. Obviously, West Point has been the Plan A all along but we have continued to remind him that both are great options, just different. If anything, my husband and I have felt all along that the AROTC route might better suit his ultimate goal of getting to med school (that is possible via WP but it would be a longer route for sure). The tipping point for him happened when he got into the honors program at the school. So we have everything in place and ready to roll and even signed up for a return trip to that school for admitted students. He just seems really happy and at peace. Now it is certainly possible that a sudden offer of appointment could shift his perspective, and we will support him with whatever choice he makes, but at this point, I think he just wants to know his plans. It is a difficult process for these students who work so hard and wait so long. If I am not mistaken, you both have amazing "Plan B" options as well, so just remember the choosing between options can sometimes go both ways. It is your prerogative to decide right now to move forward with the plan in hand. Just food for thought:)

My DD has not accepted her appointment yet. Her Plan B is enticing and she is waiting to hear from USAFA. She says she wants to know her options before she commits. If she doesn’t hear from USAFA by next week, she will make a decision between USMA and Plan B.

I wonder if anyone checked the mail at our house yesterday...I didn't and don't have a pile of junk mail on my kitchen counter so thinking probably not LOL

I shouldn’t do this to you all but you can sign up for an email from postal service to get a scanned copy of your mail emailed to you everyday so you will know what’s being delivered. I wish I never did it because it caused much anxiety. TWE picture was in email one morning but turned out to be notice of 7th semester grades being received. Unfortunately on Friday TWE was in email and when DD got home it was indeed the dreadful TWE! Fortunately BFE for her top school was also there also but did little to ease the pain!! She is happily moving forward w/plan B now with eyes on getting back on the roller coaster for class of 2024! Good luck to all still waiting and especially to class of 2023.

So TWEs are coming via snail mail and not via the portal?

DD has Plan B (AROTC) lined up and is ready to pull the trigger should she receive the dreaded TWE. She received an acceptance from a private university in December which included a merit scholarship to cover room and board. I spoke to a staff-member at the office of one of her MOCs last week and was told that no action has been taken on her file yet. I guess the million dollar question is - is no news, good news?

Seems it is different from person to person.
