What can I expect at the DODMERB exam?

If the applicant opts to have the "visual pelvic exam" performed by her own doctor, I understand that the results need to be reported, somehow, to the doctor performing the full medical exam for DOD MERB. What exactly is this report? Is there a form?! A set of questions?

Personal doctor needs to write a short note that the inspection took place and all is normal based on MD's observation

Your MD might find that ridiculous so explain it is simply a DOD requirement

Hello question about Scoliosis. My daughter was just diagnosed with a mild case. Never came up in any sports physicals over the years and she is a competitive cross country competitor. However she just applied to PJ school via Civil Air Patrol. It is a very rigorous week long school this summer. So CAP gave us a checklist to take to the doctor and it appeared to be a more intensive physical basically. The checklist asked for a x ray and to make a long story short she does have some curvature in her spine. All else checked out well. Her squadron commander seems concerned that they may not let her in the school. So is a mild case of scoliosis disqualifying for the USAFA?

It really depends on the extent of her scoliosis. There isn't an exact answer for it because it depends on what DoDMERB finds when she would go for her physical there. If she is DQ'd, call all your doctors and everything else to show proof that it doesn't affect her.

tjennings - If you look at the dates of the previous postings, those are over a year old. What's your question(s)? :wiggle:

google 'dodmerb"
hit "questions about the process"
