Yesterday DS’s Portal status remained B/UC. Today when i try to go into the application it says “General Error”. Is that like the application was virtually tossed into the circular file???
My S has a minor knee injury and will be having arthroscopic surgery in May/June.
Given the fact that your DS has a 3 year, he doesn't have to pass DoDMERB until the second year. However the free R & B complicates matters. I would definitely have your son reach out to the ROO at the college battalion and explain his upcoming surgery. They will likely work with him, but chances are fair that even if he waits until next summer to do the DoDMERB, that he will be DQ'd and need to obtain a waiver given the recent nature of the surgery.
Good luck!
For ARMY candidates with B/ UC... I HOPE the Army waits on:
1). Candidates that also applied to Academy
2). Candidates that also applied for Navy or Air Force ROTC Scholarships.
3). Candidates that might not pass the DODMERB.
I hope Cadet Command uses Remaining B/ UC as their wait list...
to see if anyone doesn’t accept the Army Scholarship because of college preferences or can’t pass the DODMERB. This might give others on the B/ UC another chance.

I think site is just down. My DDs is showing the same thing and she was just going in to print off a copy of her winner letter. Keeps getting General error too.
If you look at the bottom of that notice, you will see a link that says 2019-2020. Click it and you will be taken to your application. So I’m confused. When I login to my account it won’t let me view my application, and on the screen it tells me that “the deadline to make an application has passed”??? I can’t check my status and I’m really anxious to see if I’ve been awarded the scholarship. Anyone know what’s going on?
Yes. It happened to me a couple days agoAfter all is said and done in the next few months after AROTC Scholarships are accepted and declined, kids choosing SA over ROTC, is it possible that a 3 year award could be upgraded to 4 year Scholarship? Has this happened in past years?
Yes, it is possible to have a 3 year upgraded to 3.5 or 4 years. I believe some are upgraded by Cadet Command, but quite a few also are upgraded after the semester begins at the battalion level.is it possible that a 3 year award could be upgraded to 4 year Scholarship? My DS was a "walk-on" to Army ROTC (no scholarship) and earned a 3 year within three months by busing his rear-end and getting good grades plus working hard at ROTC. Within four more months they upgraded the 3 year to 3.5 year.
How this is handled varies by battalion, so speak to your ROO about the chances.
Your welcome!!Ray that is tremendous!!! CONGRATULATIONS. Thanks for the info
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, the only school she applied to is more expensive. My son was in a similar situation some years back. He had been accepted on an early action basis months before submitting his AROTC application and never applied to any other schools. When the mystifying scholarship offer for a local college arrived months later, we began the transfer process. We also attempted to contact the ROO, who was inaccessible, for reasons unknown, and then the PMS, who said my son was fifth on the list, with the first three likely to attend service academies.
In addition I described the problem to the guidance counselor at my son's high school. She thought it might be possible to use some pull and get my son admitted to the scholarship school even though it was well beyond the school's application deadline. Fortunately, the transfer came through. If it hadn't, I suspect that my son would have enlisted in the Marines with one of his buddies.
Hopefully, your daughter's preferred school is not more expensive than the scholarship school.
