how are you notified of NROTC scholarship decision?

email, portal check or phone call? do you get notified if you dont get it?

Portal and email notification if you do get it, and mail will come a few weeks later. Not sure about otherwise.

Navy or Marine Option?

I can only address the Marine Option side

Good news *usually* comes via some personal contact. My son got a conference phone call when he rec'd the MO scholarship on the early board during his freshman year of college.

Bad news by email or sometimes no contact at all. During his senior year of high school, my son got no contact at all that he didn't receive the scholarship. Unfortunately, his packet was "lost" somewhere between the first and second boards when an officer retired mid year. (Based on info from the officer that took over and personally worked his packet for the 2nd try.)

Naval option

Navy got email last year at about the same time as PNS called to congratulate

Marine scholarship, just got an email saying that I got it. Email came the 19th. Letter came Christmas Eve.
