Oh no! What happened??
We have been a host family for the AOG Bed and Breakfast Program for the past 5 years and plan to host this year again. I believe appointees have just not been given the information yet to sign up. As a host family, we usually get information to sign up sometime in May.
I just spoke with someone at the AOG (Association of Graduates) and they unfortunately confirmed that they will be discontinuing the Bed and Breakfast program. As a long-time host family, this is SO disappointing to us... we looked forward to hosting appointees every year!
Yes, all appointees arriving by themselves will now be responsible for making their own arrangements for hotel & transportation
Wow, that's rough considering most hotels don't rent rooms to 18 year old people.
Just speculation, but perhaps travel orders from USAFA will waive the age requirement. I know most car rental companies will rent to someone younger than their age requirement if they have valid travel orders.
