Good Morning All.
This is for the candidate and parents who are still waiting. We see you, we hear you, and we have been you. This month can be incredibly daunting. Perhaps you have heard nothing for three or four months. You can convince yourself that it is not going to happen for you.

You may feel anxious and a little angry. You may think, "Why don't they just send me a TWE and end this torture already?" Perhaps you have burned the portal log in information into your keyboard!

Keep faith.

No one here can alleviate the uncertainty. There is no way to game it. There is no way to know when or how or what you will hear. Most people will know by 15 April but there are others who will continue to hear nothing until the very end of April--and that does not mean you are more likely to get a TWE, it just means that you have not heard yet.

Go for a run (or brisk walk if you are a parent). Focus on your classes. Most of all enjoy your time with your family.

Hang in there. Keep faith. Go Army! Beat Navy!

Your positive outlook and experience are both invaluable.

"Embrace the Suck" candidates. This is where it begins.

Best of luck to all.

Go Army!

Boy, did we need this!! It is spring break here so DS has too much time on his hands. He has been pretty good with waiting so far. Me....I am going CRAZY!! I do wish they would just do SOMETHING. But we wait....

Terrific post = thank you! This has been the longest process ;-) In today's world of instant gratification, the interminable wait of about a year (SLE application to now) has been an eye opener. I encouraged DS to have everything in and done for SA's, Noms and his plan B's and ROTC apps prior to September 1. He did all that and got everything in by August 28 and even his DODMERB was done and cleared by Oct 1. The wait has been something for which we simply weren't prepared. Now I know! If any of my other kids want to do this I will take a valium or 3 and settle in for the long haul. We have so appreciated everyone's advice on this forum. I will say my DS handled the unknown far better than I did!

The interesting thing, is that as long and tenuous as this wait has been (and I TOTALLY get it! Been through it already and ramping up for it again!!), a year from now it will won’t even be a blip on your radar of life. Hard to imagine...yet fast forward a year, and it’s not even there.

Soon!! Everyone will have their answers soon!

I’m still waiting!! I try not to look at my portal. My MOC said making calls is a high priority. So if no call means no appointment. What I’ve learned is my TWE will be in the mail and not on my portal so I just check the mail box! I know now that the wait is almost over.. good luck to all!

Super note DrMom. For those still waiting, our DD and us were in this same position last year at both USMA and USNA, so fully appreciate all those feelings you are experiencing. Ultimately our DD got her TWE the last week of April last year. And you know what she did? Immediately opened her application for this yesr. She headed off to start her ROTC scholarship at a SMC and reinforced all areas of her application. And she got the BFE this year! She feels far more prepared now having a year more to mature, hardened, and understanding so much more of the demands that will be required at WP. So for all of you out there who have made it this far, most likely you really want it and just keeping pushing until you get the BFE. Best wishes that you get it this year but 12 months is also not a lot of time.

This time last year my DD was still waiting...for the second time...mid April as all hope seemed lost she got the call! She had the appt! Hold steady but have a back up plan. Don’t get discouraged just think of it as time to build your resume and your character.

Like others who have posted, we are anxiously waiting so thank you to DrMom for the note of support. Following receipt of a LOA in August, we expected to hear something definitive by this time and are checking the portal daily. One way or another, we are in the final stretch for this sprint...

So, your guy has an LOA in August...and has his or her medical clearance and has a nom...and your child is still waiting? This would be worthy of a phone call from your kid to the admissions officer or admissions tech for your region. Seems like an oversight...unless your child was not 3Q--in which case it might be nice to know that--so you all can lean in hard on that other awesome plan for next year (I hope there is an ROTC scholarship and a great university lined up!)
However, this time of year is brutal with the waiting. I promise the waiting gets a little worse in the weeks ahead--like sick to the stomach--try not to go there, try not to let your kid go there. Stay busy. Enjoy each other. It is such a shock when they go to college.
Praying for good outcomes for all of our applicants still waiting.

Thanks DrMom - got the happy news yesterday!

Went to an orientation last night and met with an admissions LNO. DS is per FFO an extremely strong candidate, heads have been turning as to what is taking so long. Turns out he is likely “stacked” for a slot which has been offered to another similarly situated (regional) offeree who is undecided. If that domino falls, he’s in. If not, he’s not. Too easy. So, for those who are waiting, this is some of the packing peanut flurry that is going on in this late season. Good luck to all.

Thank you for your kindness on these forms. They’ve kept my mind and options open during these later months, and I’m glad to inform you that I have received an appointment. Again, thank you for supporting us all.
