Portal Update Question

My DS was wait listed as well. For those that are asking, Bears Den did look different with an additional link to the current announcement (dated 4/1 instead of 1/15) on the bottom right. There were also additional "check list items" listed that weren't there before but aren't relevant (aka one was from college transcript but DS a senior in high school). For wait-listed individuals, they want to know if you want to be on the list by April 15.

Recruited athlete?

Denied o
We just heard. And unfortunately it was not the news we had hoped and dreamed for.

My DS too and he was being recruited for Football. Now we are just hoping his Plan B works out.

waitlisted
Sorry was asking a question was he denied or waitlisted. I was waitlisted

My DS was not a recruited athlete but did contact coaches about playing.

My daughter found out on Saturday that she had been wait listed for the Scholars Program. She tends to be rather stoic, so she didn't say much. Her actions told me her mind set. Improvise, adapt, overcome.

That’s the best strategy. My DD was waitlisted last year, and did not come off the waitlist. She contacted her AO and asked what she can do to improve. Then she worked hard and improved everything she could. Raised her ACT score, raised her PFE score, performed exceptionally well in all her college courses (most were honors) and rewrote her essays with a new perspective. She was offered a conditional appointment this year (just needs a waiver). For those that persevere, there is still a chance, albeit a year later than originally planned. Good luck to everyone!

Thank you for the information.

So just received word my DS was waitlisted as well. Saddened, but such is life. Congrats to all that did received an appointment.

I’m really interested in knowing where my DS came up short. Will is AO share this info with him? He had a really competitive application... like most others I’m sure. I’m also curious as to why the swim coach never reached out since his times are as competitive to recent swim meet results. Think positive and keeping those fingers crossed.

We are curious as well what were some factors especially if DS wants to reapply.
