My recollection is that tests are ordered by DODMETS/Concorde. You may want to try contacting them for a list of approved providers.

If you are being pro-active in anticipation of an asthma issue, you will be responsible for payment. If on the other hand, DODMERB is requiring the test for a remedial/waiver they are responsible for the cost.

Quick internet search yielded these guys with a number of offices in western NC, these in central NC, and these folks on the eastern part of the state. It seems like nearly any allergy/asthma clinic would offer that test.

But yes, any follow-up tests should be ordered by Concorde.

We were proactive before DS DODMERB exam and had this done for our son. It ended up being through a pulmonologist. Many places in our area either didn’t provide it or were scheduling too far out. Good luck!

Could I please ask the reason why you needed to get a test done through a pulmologist? We may have a similar situation

I’m wondering if we should do this as well. My DD will be applying for 2024 and she has a history of asthma but hasn’t used an inhaler in a couple of years. I asked a few months ago in another post and was discouraged from doing this but wondering how many people have had success being proactive?

Had my DS been selected at an earlier board and not been worried about time, I probably would’ve waited for DQ and waiver. Since this whole process can take weeks to months, I figured we’d just pay for the test on our own.

DS has his DoDMERB exam tomorrow, so I’ll keep you all updated.

If your insurance covers it get it done.
DS was proactive and had it done last summer. He passed with no deviation.

Between mid October and the end of December he knew where he stood.

One academy waived and two others didn't.
One ROTC waived and another didn't.

He didn't have to stress over the academies he didn't have a shot at and he was able to prioritize his SAs for his nomination process.

Just remember passing the MCT dosen't necessarily mean a waiver.

PM me anytime if you have any questions on the process.
