Still Waiting

My DS like many are still on HOLD. I saw in a thread from 2017 that Admissions completes going through the state slates by April 1 and they start on the NWL. Not sure if that's still the case (or ever was), but hopefully we on HOLD will start hearing something in the coming weeks. It's hard to believe my DS only has 19 more days of high school followed by a week of final exams and graduation on May 19th. And 7 weeks of summer vacation (if admitted into USMMA) before Indoc starts on July 5th. Where does time go! He is my last one out of high school.
I hope this is the case still! This coming week should be a good one then for the remaining hold candidates.

It's April and you are still in the running. Congratulations are in order. Even if you do not get the acceptance you are dreaming of, you should be proud of yourself (your son/daughter) for going through this process and making it this far. Sincere best wishes to those still waiting. We are with you on this journey and we really do understand the angst you are going through right now. No matter what happens, hold your head high.

We were just at KP and we were told that this year they are seeing more applications waiting on DODMERB than ever. That all paperwork with them has to be in and resolved by April 16th. Even recruited athletes which this coach couldn't believe. I am assuming that by the end of the month we shall start to see acceptance and declines. no more on hold.

Oh, thanks for the good info!

Hey everybody,
when I check my application I do not see hold anywhere. all I see is my candidate #. I finished my app toward the deadline so should I be concerned? I'm medically and physically qualified as well and all boxes are checked.

I am having the same issue with my application status blanking out. I simply emailed admissions and I was told I was still in the running and I am high on the hold list, so if you have not received a TWE then you should be good, but if you feel worried about it then email admissions. My officer was very helpful and responded in less than an hour.

This would explain some of the abundance of undecided applicants on the list. Thank you for sharing!

Does that mean those of us that are already medically qualified can expect to hear back soon?

does anyone have any idea how many people are on the hold list? based on the "class profile" page on the website I averaged out the # of declined appointments over the past 5 years and its around 100 each year. Does this mean that the top ~100 on hold will get offers after May 1?

Some offers will go out this month as well, mostly for prep. I emailed one of the admissions officers my area admissions officer told me to and he said decisions regarding prep will be made and released in April.

Hello all,
On my DS 's portal his designation is still "Candidate", is "Hold" a separate designation and if so what is the difference between the two?
Thank you and good luck to everyone as well.

Our DS is still on hold, but has been offered the scholar program by the USCGA after being denied 100%. So don't give up its not over , until its over , and even then there is self prep. We moved on immediately after USCGA denial, and applied, and received admission and scholarships to MMI back in early Feb, It really helped us mentally to have a solid plan that would ultimately lead to the same result with hard work and determination of course! Stay positive and call MMI!!! they are a great plan of action!

As a FYI, the "denial to prep" direction can go the opposite way as well. There are times when some may be offered prep, and then later offered an appointment.

Good To know!

I’m still waiting to hear back and I’m in the process of receiving a medical waiver. Also, I’m still a “hold” candidate.
