I applied to USAFA and USNA and have gotten my rejection letter from afa but am still patiently waiting to hear any news from Navy. Does being rejected from one SA mean I will most likely be rejected from the other as well? I got a nomination to both of them if that helps.

The answer is no.

Each SA makes independent decisions. They do not coordinate with one another. Many candidates who receive an appointment are rejected by one or more of the other SA's.

And the slates you are competing on with USNA is different from that of USAFA. There is no way to know the outcome other than waiting.

Kinnem, do you think USNA will have one last wave of appointments, after some are returned or a medical waiver was not granted to an LOA? Is April 15 a solid date that those still waiting can breathe easier because they will know one way or another?

You will know the decision USNA has made (Accepted, Rejected, Prep, Foundation, Waitlist) by April 15.

They are right on schedule.

I don't think I've ever seen a "wave" of appointments..they trickle out as they are decided. As for April 15, the word is that "Most" will know, and I would be more specific and say "Almost all..." There are exceptions from time to time, and likely somebody will get the word after April 15.

They keep saying April 15 and I have no reason to doubt that date.

Historically, there has never been a "wave" at the end. Appointments can come late in the process for many reasons including (but not limited to): needing medical clearance/waiver, late review of slate, waiting to see what yield looks like (how many have already accepted/turned down vs. what was expected), final decisions from National Pool, decisions on NAPS/Foundation (including how many slots Foundation will get), etc.

There are always some that come at the end, but as OldNavyBGO says, usually not a huge number.

As a BGO, I can tell you from past experience, I have had candidates get turned down after the Apr. 15th date.
