It's April and I'm still waiting for USMA. At this point, I just want a result.

So why didn't I get a TWE or an appointment while other people have got either or?

Am I more competitive than some folks, less?

Maybe they haven't looked at my file yet?

Hang in there. I believe at this point they've not only seen your file but your WCS puts you high enough on the list you haven't been mathematically eliminated. You weren't a clear slate winner, that's why you haven't been appointed, but you are still in the game, which is why you haven't received a TWE.

Hang tough. You've come this far. As stated above, you are still in the game.

Best!

Go Army!

Dear ROTCRAY...so sorry sweetie...you will know in a few weeks. It doesn't mean anything...no one can tell you what it means except that you are still in the group of people who are more likely than not to be admitted (3Q with a nom)...Who knows why you are there, waiting.
It is really hard. Focus on what you can control...your other school--you don't have to commit today but where else are you planning to go next year. Do you have your Army ROTC scholarship in the bag and accepted?
Again, it does not mean anything. Try just to check once a day, if you must. It could be a couple/few more weeks.
Hang in there kiddo.

Yes I have a 4 year AROTC scholarship at Wheaton College in Illinois

Weird thing is I have a 26 on the ACT and still being considered for USMA. In my district average is a 32

We are still waiting also, at this point it makes you wonder

I am telling you—you are not alone. Hang in there and please do not compare yourself to anyone. It is not that simple or else half the officer’s in the Army would be total nest test takers. There are so many nuances that make a good leader and a good cadet.
There are more appointments coming out and more AOG scholarships and anyway...you have a great plan..this is just icing.

All one can control is preparation and effort. If you have done your best, hold your head high and strive for the inner peace you deserve. It may seem obvious, and I don’t wish to come off as condescending, but this is key to navigating life.

I get it. April is the month when students, finally, are in control. The vast majority of schools have decided, and unless one has gone early decision, he or she gets to sort through the options. It’s disconcerting to have as much as half of April taken away; enough already!

But be gratified that SA decisiona are in the hands of people of great integrity who are doing the best they can and would be the first to acknowledge that the process is art as much as science and regularly produces seemingly arbitrary results.

Embrace this, try to be patient and be good to yourself. A man of wisdom, who delivered the 1962 Commencement Address and was a great friend of the Service Academies, correctly framed the nature of our journey:

There is possibly something else on your resume that USMA finds valuable.

They may offer you the prep school if you are qualified in all other areas. My son had a 27/1230 and was offered prep last year. He'll start USMA this year. It could not have worked out better for him. He is solidly prepared for entering this year and is one of the top performers at the prep school.

Last time I talked to my FFR they said that West Point has been releasing decisions a couple weeks later compared to previous years. Just a couple weeks left!
