Does anyone have any experience here with STAP I? I am doing STAP I and I was wondering if I'm allowed to leave on the weekends, and as a rising Yuk, could I wear civvies/cadet cas? How does laundry work? Formations? Thank you!

During STAP you are stuck on campus. No passes--but that might be related to academic probation...and not universal.
They will teach you about the laundry...and you do PT in the mornings.
I have reached out to my current cadet who is a STAP Ranger....and will post his responses here...esp about the civvies or cadet casual...

So if you're STAPing DPE, you are excused from morning PT. There are 2 formations still each day. And you are allowed to leave each weekend.

Summer Term Academic Program [STAP] - If a Cadet has had academic difficulties or failed a course, they may be required to take STAP. This is a highly concentrated course of study and the Cadet is given the opportunity to pass the course and improve their QPA [class rank]

STAP is not always taken due to a failure in a class, it may also be taken by a Cadet in order to get ahead on credits for a variety of reasons.

I did this for one of my major classes. Ended up being a great idea because it helped me choose between two engineering disciplines I was stuck between at the time and lightened up my course load going into the next year. No required PT because I was there voluntary although it wouldn't surprise me if this varied by year. I had to wear cadet casual on the weekends because of my class year at the time but allowed off post. It wasn't a bad gig.

OK...I had a text from the baby. He said, Clothing is the same standard as during academic year. He does not know about passes, it probably depends on WHY you are at STAP. If you are on academic probation then probably no passes. There are PT and morning formations. There are laundry machines that cost money to use--and he does not think there are laundry slips during the summer. He also said that everything is explained to you when you get to the period of STAP--but it is hard to learn about it in advance.
