Tracker for end game TWEs and Appts.

I could be wrong (I often am), but I think that maybe some people are jumping the gun by labeling themselves as "not a good NAPS candidate." See the below posts from 2018...

@paul8502 yeah it’s not all about grades. If they think you could benefit from another year to mature NAPs could be an option. If you don’t have a nom or they can’t find a slot to charge, NAPs could also be an option
 
Fair points Paul. I do think however the majority case for NAPS is for Candidates that need just a little more time to hone their academics. Certainly there are exceptions to that. The Navy is fairly clear in its communications that the mission of NAPS is not to be a second place award for those who just barely missed out on Appt.

Certainly nooffense intended, if my DS was offered NAPS, he would probably take it.

I have a feeling some of these candidates are being considered for NAPS/foundation or maybe even appointments. There must be a reason for keeping them around. I know more TWE were handed out when the waitlist notices went out. Stay positive!

My theory is that an extremely small percentage of those in CPR status will end up with an Appt. I think those with a good NAPS profile have a much better chance at a positive NAPS outcome. Lets hope that I’m very wrong about those that are a better fit for direct appointment.

Was CPR until 10 minutes ago. Rejected and will reapply. I’m already in college too.
 
If history is to be believed and we think about 10% of the actual number report on this forum we may be looking at only around 300 left as CPR. Good or bad only 5 days left...

Side Note: DS got the TWE last year in February. Test scores were not good. Played College Football this year that took up all summer, and he was unable to retake SAT/ACT. Did not take ANY STEM classes as a freshman although will finish the year around a 3.5GPA at a hard school. I don't think we ever thought he was competitive enough to get in. He does have a NOM and did apply for VP NOM. All that said, we are shocked that he is still in the game. He has signed up for the PLC program and hopes to go to Quantico this summer. took the ASTB and missed it by 4 points. 4 POINTS!!!!! He has no flight experience at all. He has been crushing the aviation books and is gonna re-take it soon and WILL pass it and get a Flight contract for the Marines. Every day my wife tells me to "Get of the forums". Cant help myself I guess. Still waiting on the TWE this year, but man would a BFE be awesome!

Curious, what is the rationale behind withdrawing an application after April 15 ? USNA says "most" will hear by then...but there are exceptions, and you are still in the game until the TWE arrives.

DS has an appointment to USSMA, on the NWL at USMA and CPR at USNA...
USMMA and USNA have been his co-#1s for the most part.
He/we are tired of waiting and ready to get the ball rolling.
USMMA is ultimately what I would have him choose anyway as he is a recruited athlete there and all along the coach has really wanted him there. Since his appointment he(coach)has gone out of his way to get him to commit.
In my mind, that means a lot and I wish he would pull the trigger now. I think part of it, is that he just wants to know if he would have got in...
In any event, there is a lot to do to prep for any Academy and we are ready to get to work.
