The Waiting Club

Still waiting for USAFA and USNA and it is killing me. My medical status is "Potential Pilot Qualified", does this give me a leg up or is it the same as everyone?
You would hope that would count, but after our experience last year, I would venture to say no one really knows. Someone said that at least one person on this forum is in the inner workings of the academy and the appointment process, but I believe they remain pretty convert on here.

PPQ is an initial determination based on vision, height, and hearing standards - JMPO, it will not provide a huge differentiation from other candidates at this stage of the game. The in-depth flying class examination is usually given during the third year at the academy.

Saw an earlier post from an ALO which said that the Superintendent gave Admissions instruction to make the class at least 50% PPQ, so I'd think that would give a leg up on someone who is initially CQ.

Has anyone contacted through phone or email -the Evaluator or Counsellor other than the Liaison officer regarding the waiting? Can we contact them or is the ALO the only point of contact?

Excuse me I’m a little confused on this PPQ thing but how does one find out if their PPQ? His dodmerb said he is commission qualified , he called the dodmerb people and they said it’s the academy that would grant them PPQ after review of medical not them . Where would one find this out ? Thanks !

From USAFA: "Due to weather conditions, all non-mission essential base personnel are authorized early release at 1 p.m. Coordinate with your supervisor and leadership for any safety concerns."

I recently contacted the ALO who evaluated me and she was not my specifically assigned ALO

Hopeful... not trying to pick a nit(!)... Falcon ‘money’ comes from a Foundation (thus the Falcon Foundation) that is administered under the auspices of the USAFA Association of Graduates (AOG)... they coordinate closely with admissions.. but it is not appropriated ‘money’ like direct admits. Small difference, but to keep this forum as fact filled as possible I thought I’d post this clarification.

DS applied to USNA, USAF, USMA is medically DQ'd with no waiver requested and no nomination. We've not received TWEs and his portals as of this morning do not indicate so. We don't expect an appointment. However the good news is that all 3 SA regional commanders have told him he is ideal for their prep school and that he is on their list as a potential but they can't make promises. His qualifications are outstanding (4.0+ GPA w/AP Calc, Physics, etc., 4 year varsity letterman in 2 sports, state champion, Eagle Scout, Captain, maxed all of CFA, etc.) except the SAT (1230). Everything I've read is that he should get waivers on his DODMERB if it's requested.

My question is why he's not got a TWE yet? We don't want it certainly but maybe he truly is getting reviewed for Prep. Do you need a nomination for Prep? Does he even have a chance? Is there a deadline to fill Prep? Also, he applied for VP nom. Looking at appointments I've not seen any VP noms on the list. When will those come out? Who will those go to? I know it's a hail Mary but I thought I'd ask this forum. The waiting game... :)

Congrats to everyone who has been appointed so far! Could any of the appointees share their academic stats? Just curious as to how far off I am from receiving an appointment or what shot I have of receiving a prep school offer.

No nom needed for Prep.
I believe the vice president nominations are allocated not necessarily requested or granted based on request. I believe the Academy allocate people to the vice president nomination based on the national listing.
