If the admissions advisor doesn't think you will get in because of SAT scores (unfortunate, they don't look at the whole person), or they will not request a medical waiver what is taking so long for the denial. I don't get it.
 
You're still in the running if you haven't been turned away yet. Someone mentioned on the USNA forum that they we're considering withdrawing their application because he was sure they wouldn't offer anything this late, but he called and found out he was still competing for the prep school. All the schools do things differently of course, but there's no reason you couldn't yet be offered an appointment.

That was me....for my DS, but I vote to accept USMMA and move on. I think I’m being overruled.
 
It’s a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate perseverance to our DD/DS. A trait that will surely be needed at an academy.
Knock on every door and when there are no more doors build one !
 
The waiver initiation may just take a while. I got an LOA but the waiver process was initiated a bit of a while afterwards.
