NAPS Question

I think the OP recently received a TWE. Great posts by many. To the current NAPSter, good post. Actually you will be surprised how many at USNA struggle with the PRT. NAPS isn’t alone with that. It actually surprised me when I got to USNA. Big difference between the CFA and PRT. And at some point you have to take the responsibility of being fit on your own. Plebe Year there are lots of mandatory workouts, but eventually that goes away too and someone is now a youngster who can do what they want with their time. You will see folks struggle with a variety of things at USNA. Where one struggles another will thrive. It’s about asking for help when needed and helping one another out. NAPSters tend to do well Plebe Summer and then the playing field evens out around the 6 week mark of Plebe Year.
Navy Hoops,

You better check yourself friend. The first sentence of your post is patently unacceptable. I’ve respected your posts in general, but you just took a smug, cheap shot (citing TWE) at a Candidate who worked his *ss off two years in a row going through this process. Perhaps you don’t realize how that came off, so I will give you the benefit of the doubt and stand by while you craft an apology to the candidate and this forum.

Wow. That was uncalled for. Hoops was simply stating a fact and no more. I’m not sure how you got smug and cheap shot out of that.

The moderators here are nothing but supportive of the candidates and parents on this forum. Occasionally we have to keep things in line, but for the most part we let the natural process of Academy admissions play out and do our best to explain how things work. Hostility towards a moderator is certainly not the way to get along on these forums.

Please explain to me what the constructive pout was in citing OP’s TWE?

Moderator status does not exempt anyone from accountability for their comments.

Check your presumptions — and attitude — at the gates. Otherwise you will find yourself humbled, and not in a pretty way. USNA has a way of exposing the good — and the bad — ones.
I don't think @JoeAmerican0921 had any presumptions or attitude at all. He actually did ask a legitimate question, because it is confusing to a person who is new to this game. If it came across as "I'm better than anyone at NAPS," I do not believe for a moment that this was his intention. The original post was made almost a month ago, and his questions have been answered. I have never seen a post that was disrespectful in any way from this kid. @JoeAmerican0921, good luck to you, and I hope you reapply for 2024.

I cannot speak for Hoops but it appears to me that she was clarifying the OP’s status because of the previous posts talking about waiting for a decision. The OP already had a decision. I’m sure there was no malice, just Hoops trying to give an accurate answer.

As I pointed out, moderators are here to help. Their status does not exempt them from criticism if it is warranted. In this case it is not.

Stealth is correct. Not a cheap shot, statement of fact as folks were jumping on a thread that was posted on the 15th had some replies then died again, then someone jumped on yesterday that their attitude needed checking. The post had some great info as it was from a current NAPS MIDN Candidate. Was actually trying to help out the OP as a dead thread was being brought back and jumping on a kid who got a TWE.

They posted about the TWE in another thread. I actually replied to them on that thread they posted wishing them the best of luck and hope to see them back the next year. Candidate seems to be a great kid who worked their tail off like so many and why I hoped to see them back here. When kids post on the forum, they stand out to me. The OP was one that did throughout this process. The challenge of online forums is exactly what is seen in this thread... discerning attitude, feelings, how it's read, etc. Its why many saw the OP’s post as disrespectful and some did not. I knew his posting history and it came off as more frustrated than anything.

Thank you and that’s exactly right. It’s all in the past now and all I can do is wait for USMMA and then if not go there reapply next year.

Advice to check you humility and attitude upon entering PS is good advice for ALL PLEBES who enter the gates on IDay. Period. Or it will be checked FOR you. And you may be labeled. Which is hard to shake.

Being a team player is about the best piece of advice there is....imo....for PS.
