I am beginning the list of required items for my DS for I-Day. For those that have gone thru this previously, did you find a particular brand of tube socks that worked well for your DS or DD? I am assuming that wicking socks are the way to go. But I have no idea what brands are good. I could certainly use some suggestions. Also, why do they need 20 pair of underwear but only a dozen socks?

It was 2 years ago when our DS was a swab. I cannot remember how many of each things he had to bring. All I know is that he brought 2 pairs of compression shorts and those were confiscated since they were not on the list. Only bring what us on the list, no more no less.

As far as the socks the saying is “the higher the socks the more motivated the swab is”. The socks need to go up to the knees since the swabs put the running light book and a pen in their. They don’t want the items to fall out while walking or running places. We ended up getting the socks at Walmart since we could not find ones that he liked elsewhere. They were not moisture wicking.

For t shirts we got them a little bigger and washed in hot and dried before he left. That way they would not shrink anymore. It also seems that all their clothes are washed together in the mesh bag so the items turn grayish in color.

Also remember that all the stuff is rather nasty after swab summer. Most swabs throw all this away and start with fresh items once a 4C.

If you have any other questions you can PM me.

Concur with corescue59. DS was a swab 6 years ago nothing has changed since then. Over the calf tube socks. They don't need to be wicking. They will be discarded at the end of the summer. V-neck white tee shirts. Bring what is on the list, no more, no less. Put it in a backpack, not a suitcase. More advice on request. ;)

Any suggestions for sports bras?;)
I am struggling to find affordable, supportive and comfortable ones for a reasonable price...

Thanks!

For Sports bras, check out https://www.BareNecessities.com and get on their mailing list. I usually find a bra I like in a store, then order them on line cheaper. I also check on Amazon using the brand, model number and size in the search bar.

I adore Panache bras because they are comfortable and can keep up with what ever hare brained thing I decide I am going to do when chaperoning Young Marines and Marine Corps JROTC Cadets. Zip lining, swinging over mud pits, climbing up netting, swimming in the peanut butter pit, rock climbing, Billy Goat trails in Maryland, long hikes with a pack, kayaking, slip and slide in water falls, running ahead of the kids so I get good photos, etc.

All advice appreciated

We bought soccer tube socks off Amazon to get them long enough. I had bought some at WM and they were mid-calf. Some sellers offer a ten pack but I kept searching and found one that sold a dozen in a package.
