2 different USAFA websites

Can anyone tell me why USAFA has two different websites?

https://www.usafa.af.mil/ and also https://www.usafa.edu/

Admissions actually has their own separate website: https://www.academyadmissions.com/

The ".mil" website is for the entire installation. The ".edu" website is for the school only.
