Does a school have to have NROTC in order for you to do PLC. I've fallen in love with one of my top choices however they don't have NROTC nor will they allow cross town affiliation. I'm trying to find out if the school needs NROTC in order to do PLC. From what I understand, it takes place during the summer, right?

+1 to USMCGrunt. If you plan to do PLC then do NOT enroll in another ROTC program. You can always walk away from a program at the end of freshman year if you do enroll, I suppose.

Four years ago, DS had enrolled in Army ROTC at his college as there was no NROTC program there.

During that first semester he was contacted by the local USMC OSO who encouraged him to do PLC secretly while also participating in Army ROTC. DS just did not feel that was appropriate and politely declined.

Next month he commissions as an Army officer.

Yesterday I got rejected by USNA and still waiting for USAFA. There was a marine recruiter at my school today and we talked about PLC. He told me PLC will pay for school but I know recruiters will often stretch the truth. I have given the Marines a good amount of thought and believe this could be a great path for me, but I also need to pay for school somehow. So is it true that PLC will pay for school?

The links are a good start. Is it really going to help with paying for school? Not really... details are in the docs. Chances to earn some money, but not a ton to pay for school in my opinion.
