Lame Duck Congressmen

Here in NY, the the 2 Senators posted their nominees on their respective websites. Maybe your MOC did the same for the year concerned.
Also, it would seem to be a point of pride for the MOC...BTW, did you speak to the Service Academy person of contact in the MOC's office? They sometimes do not change and anyway may be more helpful since it's their responsibility & not just some uninterested person answering the phone. Good luck!

This wouldn’t address who a candidate is ultimately CHARGED to. Which is only known after it’s all said and done. MOC doesn’t even know (pretty sure...not positive about this point), nor does the Mid. Unless they request to find out once a Mid. DS has no idea who he is charged to.

There aren’t many Mids at USAFA so it probably doesn’t matter.

For USAFA our son was told each time his nomination was changed to a different source. He was changed three times from the original nom, to one Senator and then the other, and finally to our district MOC. I’m not sure if it’s the norm but most USAFA cadets I’ve discussed it with are told who they were charged to before I-Day.

My apologies for not being clear. Poor word choice on my part. I'll try again. My DD is a C4C. She spoke to other USAFA C4Cs who are from our congressional district, and they determined they all received their noms from the same MOC, not senator or VP or pres or other. Then I learned from other parents that their C3Cs and C2Cs received their noms from the MOC who retired from our district. This means there are currently at least 8 cadets at USAFA who received noms from our congressional office. 3 from the guy who retired and 5 from the current MOC. Hence my conclusion (opinion) that USAFA will find a way to keep applicants they want, regardless of how many are already there from a given congressional district. If I'm still wrong about this, I welcome correction. Thank you.
There are several categories of appointment, of which MOC slate winner is one - these are the appointees that are charged to the MOC's district and each MOC may have 5 attending at any given time.

All other categories of appointees must have a nomination and it does not matter where that nomination comes from. Theoretically, a MOC can have the 5 charged appointees attending and also an additional 45 that the MOC nominated on those five slates. The same goes for all other nomination sources - admissions will figure out which category each appointee is charge to.

Thank you for the clarification. It makes sense now.
