If you received an AOG civil prep scholarship offer does that mean that you are not accepted and that West Point will send you a TWE or QNS in the portal for that class year "2023"? Obviously, if I take the AOG scholarship I will reapply next year I am just confused about what it means for this year. Is it still possible to get accepted still or not?
Thx!

Chances are extremely slim to be appointed at this point given you have received an AOG Scholarship. I would recommend focusing on the prep school choice and getting that option squared-away while the class of 2023 finalizes. Good Luck!

did you receive an AOG scholarship ? or get right in? just trying to figure out if I will be notified or they just never give me a QNS and my file stays open till i reapply while at prep school

First.. congratulations on the AOG as now you really do have a slot reserved for you in next year's class.

The best person to answer your question is your RC. Anything else is pure speculation.

My 2018 did receive a QNS after he received his notification of being selected for AOG. But I dont think he received a QNS or TWE till May. His RC was in contact with him throughout the process.

As for the civil prep option...congratulations! There is a ton of information in this thread as to the value of the civil prep program so all I will add is...the years are going to fly by so enjoy your senior year and squeeze every bit of time you can find with family and friends because you are about to begin an incredible journey.

Congratulations!

Thx JWP! Any preference on schools or what did your son like?

My DS got an AOG two years ago. He never received a TWE or a QNS notification. He and many other AOG's went to Marion Military - you will not make a mistake going there, it's a great program. Once you get an AOG, it is very unlikely to be appointed for this year, but it has happened. Two years ago, a student had all the stars align and got appointed after she was all set to go to Marion. That actually freed up the slot that was then offered to my son, interestingly enough. But I have never heard of that happening other than this one instance. Take the AOG and don't look back. You have been offered a golden ticket to admission next year.

He looked at NMMI and MMI aaannnddd ultimately chose MMI and did not regret his choice for a single moment.

Great experience all around!

If you have an AOG scholarship, do not sweat which Prep School you choose. If they are on 'the list' then if you go there and take care of business, you are all but certain to earn an appointment next Spring. Choose the school that is best for you and your family, with regard to travel and ultimately, where you want to be. they are all capable of getting the job done, as long as you are.

FWIW, I am partial to Marion, as my DS went AOG there in 2012-13. He made many friends while attending West Point, but a big part of his 'inner circle' is still comprised of cadets with whom he shared the prep school experience.

Best of luck to you!!! great things await!!!
