The Waiting Club

DS received Falcon Scholarship this morning - he also has an AFROTC scholarship. Any seasoned players out there with advice? We need to research the Falcon Scholarship opportunity more - anyone know the percentage of those who receive an appointment after completing the year of prep? We'll scour these threads for more information also. Hang in there to all those who are waiting!
DS also received a Falcon Foundation Scholarship offer this morning and has 1 week to decide. He also has a 4 year AFROTC scholarship to consider (and a USMA appointment which he has decided to decline). After mourning the loss of a direct entry appointment for a few hours, I think he will take the FF Scholarship as 99.8% get appointments upon successful completion of their prep year.
Which Prep school did your son decide on? Ours selected NWP - can’t wait!
Our DS also selected NWP. What state are you from? We live in Colorado.

Checking the forum, email accounts and portals have become even more than a daily routine. It's the Waiting Club for me. Good luck to everyone!
I’m new here. Parent who has become obsessed with checking the portal. My son applied by nov 1. This is torture. He has a plan B - Virginia Tech COE and AFROTC but the academy has long been his dream and this wait is so hard. Glad to read we are not alone.

My son also waiting....DoDmerb totally botched his file...just fixed it Friday night...perfect health....had a lot of trouble getting them to fix their errors...Deputy Director came to the rescue.in time for USAFA but too late for USNA where he would have gotten appointment but for clerical errors by technicians...lesson we learned is don’t assume they will do their job if you leave them to it....

TWE this am, but she feels good. She said she's excited for the opportunity for AROTC and a full scholarship to Embry Riddle for astronautical engineering. As she said, how could she be upset studying at the top aerospace program in the heart beat of the space program. When did they get so smart? She was also selected yesterday as a semi finalist by US Dept of Education for Presidential Scholar, so I think that helped soften the blow. Good luck to all. No matter the outcome you've only grown from the journey. Never be afraid to risk.
DS also rec'd TWE on 4/18 and now headed for ERAU & AFROTC, also a presidential scholar, Aerospace Engineering. Visited the campus for the first time on 3/30 preview day and loved it; DS is also positive and ready to give it his all. They are where they're supposed to be--plan B rocks :) Go Eagles!

Perhaps tomorrow, May 1, which is a deadline that many colleges have set for students to commit, will result in some appointments coming open. Here's to everyone still waiting and hoping! Continued best of luck.

DS received twe this morning due to dq but his waiver was approved in April..could this be a mix up with the waiver not getting added to his file upon review? Or can you still be dqed by admission after having received a waiver?
