Is there the chance to meet athletic coaches during AIM? Should students email athletic coaches prior to AIM to try to make contact outside of the “recruit me” profile on bears den?

There should be some coaches time set aside during AIM. The cadre will let you know when and where.
It never hurts to let the coach know that you will be there. They might even know when the meeting will be held.

corescue59 is absolutely correct. My son has been in regular contact with the football recruitment coach who requested to be notified if my son applied for AIM. My son was accepted and has already reached out to the coach to let him know he will be attending so that they can meet again.

Absolutely reach out to coaches! We had already met them during a CGA visit but we both met coach again right after AIM was completed on Friday. I thought there was coach time scheduled during AIM. I think it was over lunch but don’t quote me on that.

You should constantly send updates to coach about your sport, academics, and leadership. You never know when their recruiting needs change or where you stand unless your communicating constantly with them!

Absolutely get in touch with coaches prior to AIM! If you plan to participate in a particular sport, you need to get in touch, and stay in touch. While Coaches are not officially part of the entrance decision, they can be a positive by giving input to the committee. My daughter is attending AIM, and hopes to eventually attend CGA. She sent an email to introduce herself freshman year, met the coach in person at a game in our state. My daughter has since sent emails to update the coach on her seasons, and any CGA events she attended. It's safe to say if the coach is asked if she "knows" who my daughter is, the coach will answer yes and be able to tell the committee a little about her...it CAN'T hurt!
