Hi, I'm about to go to SLE later in June this year. Does anyone here know if the cfa mile run facilities at USMA are indoor or outdoor? I'm currently training, and I want to know what to expect because if it's too hot the temperature'll slow me down.

Wait, I thought the cfa instructions said that the running surface had to be flat.

Indeed. Hence at USNA, they do it on the Severn rather than in the Chesapeake. The Severn is relatively calm, while the Chesapeake can get a bit choppy, especially in the afternoon.

I suppose if you tilt your head just right, the running surface will appear flat. [emoji106]

Wouldn’t that affect our track times mile? Should I train these last few weeks on hills?
Sorry. I’ve been yanking your chain.
Stoney Lonesome is about a 2 mile, very steep grade hill from the main part of West Point to a high point that over looks the Hudson and is so named because in the days of the Revolution it was a stoney and lonesome outpost. While used for physical training it would NOT be used for a PT test.
