Is the initial deposit of $2000 mandatory upon arrival to R day or is there a means by which the payment can be made post R day?

While the $2,000 deposit is mandatory, it is not necessary to pay before R Day. If not made prior to R Day, it will be deducted from monthly pay. There should be an explanation of options in the portal.
