Worried about DoDMERB process

Long story short, while I was enlisted I had a small hernia from working out. I went to the ER and they ran scans on it as a precaution. Coincidentally they found a cyst on my liver and pancreas through the scans. After many exams and organ function tests, I checked out 100%. The cysts were completely benign and nothing to worry about. I’m worried that this will be a problem for some reason, and it’s incredibly frustrating. I can’t even express how stressed out I am over this. Has anybody had anything similar happen or any idea of what to expect from this? Would this normally be an automatic DQ? Should I be expecting some sort of paperwork battle?

You don't say where you are at in the process but the earlier you get your application in the better you will be. The completed application triggers the DODMERB exams. And then if you receive an appointment--I believe that is when the waiver process begins, but not totally certain on that. Give yourself lots of time! Because its not a speedy process and your job is to provide the necessary paperwork as soon as it is asked for and then you wait..and wait.

I separate in 1 month, and I start ROTC in the fall. I actually haven’t begun any of the paperwork or anything. I’m just trying to prepare for a possible headache

I had double inguinal hernias since I was born and got them repaired when I was a kid (around 2007). The surgery was successful and had no complications at all. I was worried this would DQ me but all the MEPS and DODMERB asked was if I had any complications. I think as long as a doctor has cleared you and you have no complications- you should be fine.
