Between the BFE and the PTR

I suggest you visit this link (https://www.usna.edu/Admissions/PermitToReport/index.php) and get crankin’ with the forms. The majority of the forms on the webpage are the same as those arriving in the PTR package. You can opt to use them as “drafts” to then quickly fill out the actuals when they arrive. Saves time and gives you a sense of what info is needed, particularly the SF-86 which takes the longest to fill out, in my opinion.

Using online forms as "drafts" is a brilliant idea. DS received his replacement PTR yesterday but I am going to pass on your suggestion.

FYI if you get a new passport when you turn 18 your passport # will change

I didn't know that your passport number changes at 18 years of age. It's good that he waited until now to get one. There's a lot of information in this forum.
Thank you.

One of the key items in the PTR is the letter with your soon to be Plebe’s report time. Definitely follow up if you haven’t received it as yet. There is a lot of stuff in the package to complete. And make copies of the blank documents, completed forms, scan them and follow the instructions on everything (in the military now) and remember to hold the papers you are to bring with you in your hand and have a full set of copies elsewhere. Good advice given to our DS from someone who’s DD put hers in her backpack which was taken away right away and then resulted in her getting all her immunizations again!
