Non School-Sponsored Sports

Hi all, just have a quick question about school-sponsored vs non school sponsored competitive sports.

A quick background: I applied my senior year of high school and lost my admission because of a failure in the paperwork of a blood test. Since then, in starting my sophomore year of college, I haven’t gone a day without dreaming of reapplying after building myself up to be better both athletically and mentally.

My question: I’ve been involved with competitive kenpo karate (forms and sparring) since age 5. Since this is at a private studio and I don’t compete with my university, how can I make sure my application would reflect my dedication to the art?

Thanks!

There should be a section in the application where you can check off martial arts or other sports. You can also discuss about your commitment to the martial art in the resume section at the end of the activities record. I would definitely discuss how you have made your way through the belts since the age of 5.

I used to do Kenpo karate and then I transitioned to Hapkido which is more focused on self defense and kicks. Kenpo was a lot of fun and I always regretted transitioning before earning my black belt.
