This past weekend we attended my DD commissioning ceremony and graduation. This was a long and difficult journey but so worth it in the end. I had posted at the end of her 2nd year of school that she was being disenrolled. https://www.serviceacademyforums.co...sible-dis-enrollment.55705/page-2#post-573503 It took 1 year and help from many people to get her the approval she needed to stay in. She also had to get cleared from DodMerb a 2nd time (she had 2 waivers to be approved). After that long and difficult year she became the Cadet Wing Commander her 2nd semester of her Senior year. Received several awards at the end of her senior year and commissioned this past weekend in The Worlds Greatest Air Force. I just wanted to post to let all those who feel there is no hope...sometimes with hard work it will work out in the end. My DD made a huge mistake but it all worked out for her. I have enjoyed visiting this website these past 5 years and it has helped us tremendously along the way. Thank you everyone. BTW...We did not drop the butter bars!!! Such a proud moment!!!

Congrats!!! Things worked out in the end. So happy for you, your family and brand new Second Lieutenant. [emoji106]

Thank you for the update! I remember your original post and am so happy for her and your family. It was a tough road, but she did the right thing and it worked out well, bravo!

Congratulations and best wishes to the new Air Force lieutenant!

Perseverance, dedication, staying true to yourself and grinding it out until you are denied results in hard work paying off. Where there is a will there is a way! Congratulations to you and your DD. Earning the commission, in the manner she did, will make her career and commission even more rewarding. Good luck on a great future!

Sounds like an exemplary cadet and now a fine officer.

Congratulations and thank you for the very motivating post.

Glad it all worked out for her. It should make her accomplishment all the more satisfying and reinforce to others that the right thing to do is the right thing to do, even when it's not the easy thing. It will also give her an insight to what her Airmen may be feeling when she has to handle one of their mistakes. Understanding a mistake of the mind versus a mistake of the heart is a huge part of effective discipline.

Congratulations...I’ve always tried to live by this simple quote I found years ago when things were hard and teach my kids the same motto (sounds like your DD has learned this lesson)...”The greater the struggle the greater the rewards”.

Well done and congrats to her.
