USCGA Class of 2023 Do-It-Yourself Appointment Thread

Although I would like to have a chance at West Point, the Coast Guard is really where I'd rather earn a commission (more so than the army). I would really like to know how my high school stats are so far, what chances I have of getting into the CGA, and what I need to improve on. Thanks.

You’ve come to a good resource for unofficial insights, and you’re at the right stage to research, learn and form your plan.

Use the Search function in each of the SA forums looking for “chance me” and “stats” threads and posts. You will get a feel for what your competitors for an appointment bring to the table, in terms of GPA, advanced courses, test scores, leadership, athletics, civic involvement. It’s a whole candidate approach, and all the SAs like to build out a well-rounded class.

If you haven’t already, read every page, dropdown and link on USCGA.edu. Many answers are there.

I have read almost everything I needed from the USCGA website, but I would really like an opinion on my grades, etc. from a person who has experienced the academy or is very knowledgeable about it.
