Well... this caught me by surprise.

Still not sure the PFT is a great measure of physical fitness but the 3 exercises (run, core, upper body strength) can be administered with big groups in an orderly fashion with a minimum of equipment so it is useful. I am in favor of the combat fitness test as a better indicator of overall physical fitness.

I have never done a plank but spent a lot of time in the "leaning rest position". ;)

I do a plank every time there's a commercial on TV. It makes watching TV less of a time-waster.

Okay, well... some of the times when a commercial comes on, I do a plank.

I love commercials. Especially the one where the deep voiced fella says, Who Glows!

I don't know why this comes to mind right now, but my goal this summer was to lose 10 pounds. As of today, I only have 15 more to go! :D
My sister wrote on Facebook that she lost 15 pounds. I told her I found it.

The joke I heard was, One women says to another, "I think I lost 10 pounds." The other says, "Turn around, I think I found it!";)

Dr Stuart McGill has done enough bio-mechanical experiments to prove that the intradisc pressure and stress on the outer disc wall experienced during the sit-up is unmatched in its ability to rupturing lumbar discs. He has some great YouTube videos of his lab where he makes this case by rigging up cadaver spines and cycling them in sit-ups until failure. I know I won’t do another one.
I’m glad to see some of the branches move away from the crunch/sit-up and towards functional fitness tests.
