Can someone clarify: for MO ROTC, three references are required, correct?

1.) Counselor/School Admin
2.) Math, Science or English teacher (depending on program option)---what does this mean exactly?
3.) Another teacher, counselor, coach or employer

Will these same references be applicable if my son decides to apply to USNA? Or does the Naval Academy have more specific requirements for recommendations?

Thank you

What does the USNA web site say about references?

As far as #2 above, it sure beats the hell out of me as to what it means. I assume program option is Navy, vs Marine, vs Nurse, but I don't see any further clarification in the application instructions on this. When my DS did it (8 years ago now) it was a rec from English teacher, a rec from Math or Science, and then one other (he used his wrestling coach). My only guess, and it's a guess, is that for Navy it should be Math or Science while Marine Option can be English. This is based solely on a desire for STEM majors on the Navy side.

If he's working with a recruiter then perhaps they can shed more light on this. Another alternative would be to call the unit at one of the colleges he's interested in. I suppose the application itself might shed more light, I'm only looking at the directions.

Forgot to say USNA is Math and English. My son has a tracking spreadsheet with one page just for teacher recommendations (applying to multiple academies and ROTC programs).

I am currently completing my MO Option NROTC Scholarship. It asks me for a counselor, an English teacher, and then another person such as a teacher or coach.
